Kindle Theatre is an all-female company based in Birmingham making devised theatre that interacts live with its audience and environment.  As well as performing in theatres and arts centres we have created work in caves, glass factories, moving vehicles, churches and the UK’s oldest cinema.  The work is highly visual and musical and uses food to create a communal experience.We like to collaborate with artists, experts and enthusiasts.

Training

Kindle members training-influences come from a variety of sources, most notably original Grotowski actress Rena Mirecka, Odin Teatret’s Roberta Carreri, and Roy Hart Theatre practitioners Noah and Margeret Pikes and John Wild. We like kickboxing, capoeira, sun salutations, freewriting, improvising text and song, singing and slow motion hurdling.
